In Home Sessions

The most impactful progress often begins in the home, where everyday interactions become the foundation for emotional growth and deeper connection.

The roots of lasting change grow strongest in the soil of our own home

Therapy at home offers a powerful and intimate path to healing, especially for children and parents. In a familiar environment, kids often feel safer and more open, allowing therapists to observe natural behaviors and family dynamics that might not surface in a clinic.

For parents, in-home therapy can ease logistical stress, increase involvement, and promote consistent follow-through with strategies that are accessible in their everyday environment. Additionally, for parents to newborns, mothers experiencing perinatal challenges, or parents navigating postpartum obstacles, in home sessions provide a unique opportunity of therapy in the comfort of their own space, reducing stress, increasing accessibility, and allowing for real-time support with parenting, emotional regulation, and daily routines during a vulnerable and transitional period.

In home sessions are particularly beneficial for children with anxiety, developmental differences, trauma, attachment disruptions, transition adjustments, or regulation struggles; and for families working on communication, attachment, or parenting support.

  • Each session is tailored to your family's needs and may include observation, parent coaching, play-based interaction, emotional support, or skill-building. The goal is to meet you where you are—literally and emotionally—to create a supportive, practical path forward.

No need for a spotless home! A quiet, comfortable space where we can sit and interact is ideal. Your child’s usual play area works great, and having a few toys or calming items nearby can help your child feel at ease.

  • Yes, depending on your goals. Some sessions may include siblings or caregivers, especially if we’re working on family dynamics or routines. In other cases, having one-on-one time with your child or you as a parent may be more appropriate—we’ll decide together.

  • That’s okay! These sessions are meant to support you through the real, imperfect moments of parenting. Your home doesn’t have to look or feel a certain way—what matters is showing up and being open to the process

  • These sessions support both you and your child. As a parent, you’ll gain increased understanding of what is happening for your child, tools for emotional regulation, communication, and connection, and an opportunity to reflect on what may be coming up for you during a challenging situation. This will all happen within the flow of your daily life. This shared growth strengthens your relationship and supports long-term change.

  • Sessions typically last 50-60 minutes but timing may vary slightly depending on your child’s age, attention span, and any time needed in the moment for you to discuss or explore something that came up during the session.

There is typically a travel fee added but we can absolutely discuss and explore this during your consultation so there are no surprises.

  • Yes! You’re welcome to start with in-home sessions and transition to in-office if that feels like a better fit down the line. Flexibility is part of the process.

  • While I am not paneled with any insurance companies due to the restrictions in mental health coverage, I can provide you with Superbills to be submitted to your insurance.
