Through gentle hands, we speak a language of love that soothes, strengthens, and connects from the very first moments

Touch That Speaks Volumes: Nurturing Your Baby From The Inside Out

Infant massage is a gentle, nurturing way to support your baby’s development while deepening your bond through the power of touch. It can be especially helpful during times of transition—like adjusting to life outside the womb, easing gas or colic, supporting sleep, restlessness, attachment, development, and soothing fussiness.

Regular massage helps calm the nervous system, supports hormonal balance, and promotes the release of oxytocin—the “love hormone”— in both baby and parent. Beyond physical comfort, it fosters emotional connection, helping babies feel secure, seen, and deeply loved. Whether you’re building confidence as a new parent, supporting your child through something challenging, nurturing optimal physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development, or creating a peaceful routine, infant massage offers a beautiful, hands-on way to connect and grow together

Over the course of several weeks, you will be gently guided through specific massage strokes for different parts of your baby’s body. This gradual approach allows you to learn how to provide nurturing, supportive touch that not only soothes and benefits your baby but also fosters a deeper connection between you. Through this shared experience, you’ll also experience calming and regulation for yourself, creating a meaningful bond that supports both of your well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Infant massage is a gentle, intentional way of using touch to soothe, bond with, and support your baby’s development using ancient Indian and modern Swedish methods along with Yoga techniques. It involves soft strokes and techniques that can calm the nervous system, improve circulation, and deepen the parent-child connection.

  • That's a great question! Rather than massaging your baby for you, I guide you through the process so you can learn how to do it yourself. The goal of infant massage is to empower parents with nurturing, hands-on skills that deepen your confidence as a parent, deepen your bond, support your baby’s well-being, and create a sense of predictability and consistency for your baby.

I’ll demonstrate techniques and help you feel confident through understanding the purpose of the stroke, benefits of the stroke for your baby, identify and teach you the cues your baby has, and answer any questions so you can continue the practice anytime, at home.

  • Yes, absolutely! infant massage is safe for newborns when approached gently and mindfully. In the early weeks, your baby is still adjusting to life outside the womb, so it's important to go at their pace. Rather than a full massage right away, we start with short, simple strokes—watching for your baby’s cues and responses. Their tolerance and comfort will build gradually over time. This slower, responsive approach not only ensures safety but also helps foster trust, regulation, and connection between you and your baby.

  • If your baby has spent time in the NICU, infant massage can still be a beautiful and supportive tool—but it requires a more tailored approach. These babies may have heightened sensitivities or medical considerations, so we always proceed with extra care and in collaboration with your healthcare team if needed. The focus may begin with simple touch, stillness, or containment holds before moving into more traditional strokes. The goal is to meet you and your baby exactly where you both are—gently, safely, and respectfully—helping to nurture connection, regulation, and healing in those early, often overwhelming weeks.

  • es, infant massage can be both safe and beneficial for premature babies when done gently, with intention, and awareness.

Infant massage has been studied extensively in neonatal and pediatric care settings, and research shows it can offer significant physiological and developmental benefits for premature infants when performed appropriately. Areas of benefit include:

    • Improved weight gain

    • Enhanced neurological development

    • Regulation of sleep and stress

    • Improved circulation and oxygenation

    • Strengthened parent-infant bond

    • Reduction in hospital stay or decreased recovery time from hospital stay

  • You are not alone, and your well-being matters just as much as your baby’s. Infant massage isn’t about doing things perfectly, it’s about creating small, meaningful moments of connection. If you're feeling overwhelmed, this practice can actually support your healing too.

It offers a gentle, pressure-free way to bond with your baby, increase your confidence, and release feel-good hormones that benefit both of you. We’ll go at your pace, and your presence—just as you are—is more than enough.

  • Absolutely! Infant massage is a beautiful bonding tool for partners, grandparents, or any loving caregiver. It helps everyone feel more confident and connected while allowing you to feel like you are not the only one that can help you baby.

  • You don’t need anything fancy, but the right oil does make a difference. Choose a natural, cold-pressed oil that’s gentle on newborn and infant skin—like organic almond oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil. Look for options that are unscented, food-grade, and free of added fragrances or synthetic ingredients. These oils absorb well into the skin without causing irritation, making them safe and soothing for your baby.

However, if you do not have any of these options at home, do not worry! I will bring all 3 with me to our first session so you can test which option you and your baby are comfortable with.

Adjustments can also be made for you if you do not like the feel of oil on your fingers and hands.
